"It is evident that a great many ( people do not yet know that a book- ] ing office haa been established in Hereford street," said-Mr H. Chapman, at a meeting of the -ftaiiway Committee of the Canterbury Progress League yesterday afternoon. "There were -166 seats booked at the railway station yesterday, and only sixteen at the new booking office.''' Members expressed surprise that the public werenot taking advantage of the facilities afforded by the opening of the central i office, and Mr P. R. Climie suggested j that a notice to the effect that the office had been opened-should be displayed in a prominent-position in the city. This was decided upon.
