LAKE COLERIDGE.
TRANSMISSION LINE TO TIMARU. It is anticipated that a start will be made' shortly with the erection of the second transmission line to convey Lake Coleridge current to Timaru. One half of tho poles,, which wero ordered on September 18th, is to be delivered at Lyttelton, and the other half at Timaru. The firßt shipment is due before the end of the present month, and the last is due in March next. Tenders, which close on December I 9th, have been called for the supply of aluminium cable, and for high tension suspension insulators for the new line. MASONIC SERVICE. ——• (PEESB ASSOCIATION TXLEGBAM.) WELLINGTON, ._ November 16. A service for Freemasons was held in St. Mark's Church this- afternoon. Tho large and representative gathering included the." Governor-General (Grand Master), who read one of the lessons, the other being; read l by the Rev. J. H. Sykes (Past Grand Chaplain). The Dean of Nelson (tho Very Rev. C. T. Askew) preached an appropriate sermon from the test: "Fear God, honour the King, love tho brethren." The service was held to commemorate the signing of the armistice- six years • ago, and was in memory more especially of tho men of the Order who fell in the Great War. The Prime Minister xwb unable to bo present on account of illness.
