THEATRICAL ENTERPRISES.
HUGH J. WARD ATTRACTIONS FOR N.Z. It was announced some time ago that the Hugh J. Ward theatrical enterprises would Soon bo extending' their activities to New Zealand. Now comes the definite informor tion that the proprietory proposes to launch two companies in iho Dominion, commencing at Christmas-time. The firs.t, headed by Mr Seymour Hicks and Miss Ellalino Terries, will commence at Ilia Majesty's Theatre. Dunedin, en the 20th December, and tho Becond. Mr Hugh J. Ward's Company of Comedians in muscial comedy, at tho Opera House, Auckland, Commencing on the £6th December. Mr Seymour Hicks and his cornparty will appear at Christchurch on January ]st, for a season of two weeks, and; the Company of Comedians is hooked for throo weeks from about March sth. Mr Hicks'a repertoire will include tho fallowing -plays :—- "Tho Man in Dress. Clothes," "Scrooge," "Sleeping Partners," "Old Bill, M.P.," "Tho Lovo Habit," imd "Broadway Jones." Tho Musical Comedy Company will present "The. O'Briei Girl," "Little Nellie Kelly," and "Tangerine." Miss May Beatty is a member of this company. The firm intend to present their playa m New Zealand on similar lines to tho presentation in Melbourne.' and Sydney—that is to Bay they are not sending No. 2 companies, but tho same high, salaried principals, that appeared in tho productions on the other side.
