The immense' industrial requirements for electrical energy in Christchurch are not confined to motor drive in the bigger factories alone, but include electric heating and cooking equipment, lighting, and other applications throughout the city the demand for all ofr which is steadily increasing. This development of the application, of electricity must ■■ be followed by a corresponding increase in the capacity of supply mains, substations, etc., so that by keeping the available supply equal to the. demand, all industries may have every facility.for development. The sanctioning of the proposed loan will mean no increase in rates. The city's electricity supply is entirely self-supporting, and does not in any way affect the city rates. It behoves every man who has at heart the welfare of the city, both industrial and domestic, to give his unqualified support to the proposed loan oh December 4th, and thus assure an electrical: growth commensurate with the city's demands.
