THE FARMERS' GREAT ATTRACTION.
THE CASE TRACTOR. JOHN CHAMBER'S AND CO. Round and round, in sight of hundreds interested in it, a sturdy tractor was at work without any driver or attendant. This was the wonderful "Case" tractor. Its simplicity of action, its strength, and tho manner in which tho cross engines transmit the power through a chain of "spur-ears to the back axle, mad© this Case Tractor one of the most interesting exhibits on the ground. As it thus—in spite of seeming anomaly—eliminated all friction. , v . "The proof of the pudding is in th 6 eating" is an old proverb, and it is exemplified in the instance before us. Five years ago the first Case Tractor was sold in the Dominion. To-day there are somewhere in the vicinity of 200 tractors operating in New Zealand, and every ono of them has given its purchaser entire satisfaction, while each of them to-day has still its original transmission. The first "Case" machine was sold in June, 1919, and the owner Sir Curtain, of Waihou, has written John Chambers and! Son stating that in that period the bill for repairs has only amounted to £4 10s.
The Case Tractor has been largely purchased by the Government Lauds and Survey Department, and is used for breaking up the "twitch" lands of soldier farmers, settlements, which is one of the hardest things to be compassed. Since July Ist last, 31 tractors have been sold between tlie Rangitata, and Wairau rivers.
Apart from this, <[ohn CJiambers and Son handle builders' hardware, ironware, and hold the New Zealand agency for the famous Poilite roofing tiles and Their agencies include the Aero-Wand, a vacuum cleaner, and every visitor to the Show should make a point of visiting John Chambers and oSnSj Lfcd.'a eaduHt. •
