Acceptances for the fourth day of the C.J.C.'s Metropolitan-Meeting are due to-day. '

Acceptances for the Levin Racing Club's Annual Meeting are . duo tomorrow.

The first three ■winners at-Riccarton yesterday' were No. I'on : the card. Two others■ carrying the 1 same, saddle cloth finished in second place during the day.

An enquiry was held at Riccarton yesterdav into the accident resulting in the death of Cerberus. It was decided that there was no evidence to show that the horse met with interference. The Mcriseliikoff gelding took off too soon, being a length behind Otauru, with the result that he crashed into the hurdle.

Enquiries at the Christ-church Hospital last evening elicited the tion that W. Scobie,, who was injured when Cerberus fell in the Port Cooper Hurdles yesterday, had recovered consriousness after arrival at the institution, and it is ' surmised-that he has not incurred any st-rious injury. It is believed, however, that there is a minor fracture of the skull, but that the exact extent of his injuries would not be obtainable till this morning.

C. Emerson, who was successful on Starmist in the Oaks Stakes yesterday, won that race on Palestrina in 1921. Emerson was also associated with the Clarenoeux mare's success in the Otaio Plate vosterday.

Autumnus had not. sired an Oaks winner- until Starmist's success yesterday, but Sir George Clifford's handsome horse has been responsible for the winners of three Derbies besides numerous other classic events.

C. Eastwood, the apprentice who rode Wild Hind in the Jockey Club Handicap yesterday, was thereby 'scoring his first win.

Hungry Hill, though not burdened ■with much weight in the Ashley Handicap r yesterday, registered a fair performance for a maiden. ■ He is an overgrown three-year-old that may do better with time. In his first race-this season he was prominent at the finish of the High-weight Handicap at Rangiora, on Labour Day, and with a track more to his liking at Riccarton it was not surprising that lie was going on at the end of the journey. His success yesterday was in a great measure due to J. F. Dombroski's vigorous horsemanship. Mr E. Maydwell's mare Plume lias foaled a filly to Brent Locanda and will visit Matelilight.

A very comprehensive report submitted to tlie Ma-sterton Ha-cing Club by a gate supervisor on the supervision of the gates nt Opa.ki, while ,containing many useful .. suggestions, also .related some of the- schemes adopted by a portion of the public to gain -free admission, and was,' to say the least, amusing (says an exchange).
