JUDGE THREATENED.
DIVORCE COURT SENSATION. AW CABLE—WIES3 ASSOCIATION—COPTBIGHT (AUSTBALIAN and n.z. cable associatioh.) (Received November 11th, 9.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 11. There was a sensation in the Divorce Court when Mr Justice Owen stated that a respondent named Gibbons, then before the Court, had threatened to shoot him and throw vitriol over the Judge's daughter. Mr Justice Owen added that the threats did not affect him in the slightest. "Even if Gibbons did succeed in his amiable intention, ho would still have to obey the order of tho Court for the payment of alimony to his wife. Gibbons admitted that he made the threat, but said he did not intend to carry it out. His reason for uttering the threat was that two detectives dragged him out of bed in tho middle of the night and told him he would be kicked to pieces if he did not attend the Court. Tho evidence showed that respondent was in receipt of a large -weekly allowance from his father, which he spent on clothing and at races. The Judge held that some of it should have been used to meet the Court's order and discharging some of the obligations to his wife. He ordered Gibbons to be returned in custody to Long Bay Prison,
