Tho chairman's report stated that, during tho past month only on 6 small parcel of debentures had been sold. The remits dealt with at the recent Power Boards' conference had been submitted to the Minister of Public Works, who had given the Association a detailed reply, to the effect that it was not intended to introduce any legislation this session, but that the consolidation of the various Acts would receive favourable consideration. Generally speaking it appeared that the policy of tho Department was to take as little responsibility on itself and put as much on the Power Boards as possible.

The executive committee's report stated that the two-ton' truck supplied by the contractors not being in accordance with the conditions of contract, it had been returned with notice that failing delivery of a truck in accordance with the specification tho contract would be cancelled.

Tho engineer (Mr J. E. Templin) reported that construction work had started in the borough of Temuka with the poles which had been landed. During the past inontli material had not been coming forward satisfactorily, and in some cases poles had to be erected without cros3-arms, due to lack of ironwork. However, this week more material had arrived, and it would now be possible to proceed with the work in tho ordinary way. He could not. give any definite dato as to when the current would be available in Temuka and Gcraldine.

•Referring to.the supply of power to tho people of Pour Peaks, the engineer Stated that it was impossible for him to advise the Board to sign these people up until such time as the line had been canvassed from Geraldine and sufficient revenue had been found to warrant its construction. In making the canvass it should be pointed out that the revenue required was about the minimum charge, and therefore those consumers who }vould bo using current to a large extent must guarantee more than the minimum charge. A report on tho development of Lako Tekapo, prepared by Boving and Co., Ltd., was forwarded by Mr James Wilson.

On the motion of tho chairman, a hearty vote of thanks" was accorded Mr Wilson for his public-spirited action in having the investigation tiiade.
