HAWARDEN A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of tho . committee of tlio Hawarden A. and P. Association was<|ield in the Hawarden Hall on Saturday evening. Here wm a good attendance. Mr J. W. Croft, president, waa in the chair. Messrs S. B. Gibb and J. Douglas wrote accepting positions as patronß, and Mr A. McKellar accepting (the position of auditor. Tho Canterbury A. and P. Association advised that a conference of A", and P. Associations would' bo hold to discuss the federation of A. and P. Societies, and the president and vice-president were elected to attend the conference. Accounts amounting to £3 Os 5d were passed for payment. Mr P. B. Johnstone, Weka Pass, was elected a member of the Association. Sub-ooraraittees to revise each section of tho schedule wero then elected, and it was decided to pay tho gatekeepers this year for their services, instead of being honorary, as in the past. Mr C. H. Willis waa elected treasurer. It was decided to sell the rights of a publican's booth for show day by public auction at the Hawarden sale in January. Tho secretary was instructed to write to the secretaries of tho Waian, Cheviot, £mberley, Oxford, and Rangiora Associations, agents for auctioneering firms and lamb buyers in the district, asking if they would favourably consider soliciting entries for the show. It was left in the hands of the president and secretary to interview Mrs Lowe regarding catering for show day, as previously, Mr A. 8./Wilks suggested that something should: be done to encourage breeding of artillery horses, as there were very few of that stamp of horse available. On the motion of Messrs H. E. Fincham and C. Anderson, the matter was left" in the hands of the Horse Committee to deal with;' The revised rules and regulations were read and wero accepted, subject to a few minor alterations.
