Acceptances for the Levin Racing Club's Annual Meeting are due on Friday. v The four-year-old black colt Kuliio, with engagements at Riccarton and Timaru, is advertised for sale.

Ten of the sixteen races so far decided at the C.J.C. Meeting have been won by South Island horses. "With eix favourites successful on the cpening day of the Melbourne Cup Meeting, the ■bookmakers suffered severclv, and a prominent member of the ring who docs not go in for exaggeration says their loss must harv© been nearly £IOO,OOO. Ho added that even comparatively little men dropped nearly £IOOO. The Aga Khan is a widely-represen-tative owner, as a few days before his colt. Salmon Trout, _ won the English St. Leger, one of his horses took the Realisation Stakes at Belmont Park (TJ.S.A.), while Le Bijou, aJso running in his ownership, won the Grand Criterium at San Sebastian (Spain). Australians are very much in the limelight in the turf world in England again this season. Stanley Wootton continues to turn out a lot cf winners, and scored six wins during two days of the meeting at Warwick in September. Wootton's apprentice, C. Smirke, was second, with S. Dtoncghue, to C. Elliott, on the winning jockeys' list when the last mails left England, "both of them havinft ridden 64 winners to Elliott's 74. W. H. McLachlan. jun., had riddgji 48 winners and F, Bullock 36.

At the 1932 yearling sales in Sydney there was a fair amount of rivalry between Mr Percy Miller and Mr Harry Taylcr, as to which of them had bred! the best Magpie youngster. The yearling offered on account of Mr Taylor realised 975 guineas, and. subsequently named Black Ronald, won the New Zealand Derby. Another by Magpie, Lnddenham, realised: 800 guineas, and had not returned his owner any of that amcunt until November Ist, when he won the first division of a minor handicap at Moorefield (N.S.W.).
