NURSERYMEN'S ASSOCIATION.
CANTERBURY COUNCIL, At the annual meeting of the Canterbury Council of the Nurserymen's Association, Mr C. Gibbons was in the chair. The secretary read the annual report., which showed the epirit of co-operation was keen amongst members. Trade generallv had been satisfactory. With the favourable season now being experienced-, prospects were brighter than for eome time past. The Dominion organiser said there had been no reduction as yet in rairway freights on nursery stock. The election of officers resulted as follows : Chairman, Mr W. Edginton; vicechairman, Messrs C. Gibbons and .T. M. Baiter; committee, the officers with the conveners of the committee. Mr T. D. Lennie was nominated m Dominion president for a. further term, and Mr H. Christie of Dunedin, ae South Island vice-president. It was decided to support the remits from Otag-o that the Dominion conference De held in Dunedin at the time of the Exhibition. The .meeting was preceded by a social function, at which a number of toasts were honoured.
