Agar asked if the represen- , tatives of the Council at the Conferi> ence with the Tramway Beard were adb hering to the idea that the new double track in Bealey avenue should be laid along the north side of the avenue. Cr. W. H. Winsor said the repfesenr tatives of the Tramway Board and Cr. s J. W. Beanland favoured the idea of placing a line along the south side of e ' the well as the north. He 0 hoped the Council would object to that. f Cr. Agar said the Council should f protect the interests of the people of > # Christchurch. f The Mayor said there was no inten--3 tion to lay a new line along the whole 1 length of Bealey avenue, only frem > Colombo street to Barbadoes street. , Chi the motion of Cr.
