Muskotoon cantered once round to Nike away his stiffness, then galloped urn furlongs, the last nine lx?iiig covered in -in 4 3-."iS. Ho relished tho going and galloped strongly throughout. . Tre-sham and Palestrina galloped a mile together in hit 47 4—js: both handled the wet track well, and there was nothing Ix'tween them at the finish. Tl'.ev were carrying feat h envoi guts, and it was a satisfactory gallop. I'etrospect, with a little cha,p. up. galloped seven furlongs in lm 345. and did it very nicely. She was followed over the same ground by Suuart and Tarletou carrying featherweights. iSnnart- is not at his best in mud. but he beat Tarletou easily by five lengths in lm 311-js. Tarletou is hopeless in

Honito, who was carrying a little l>uy, showed a liking for soft going by rimniiig six furlongs in lm 20 .'3-sr, and doing it comfortably. This was a good gallop. Deucalion, who was carrying somewhere in the region of 9st flnci was brought liomc by Fresco, galloped a mile in lm 49 2-os without much trouble, lie pulled up well, and it was a satisfactory niece of -work. Gold Light, with well over Bst up. galloped ten furlongs by herself. The live, from the nine furlong peg to the four took lm 7 2-5.? and the nine furlongs 2m 4 3-'ss. The chestnut mare was going strongly all the way, and pulled up well. Afterwards she was given trotting exercise, and it was a very nice pice of work. Chiekwheat and Knoeklyn pulled hard wliilo sprinting half a mile in oos, and Lava beat Giantkiller easilyover live furlongs in lm 10s. Lava handled the soft track easily, but Giantkiller sprawled badly in it, anil is evidently not much good on a wet traok.
Hag Fair and Deep Drive sprinted up the back, and Kukume beat Lucinette over ten furlongs rather easily. They were carrying light boys, and the time w.hk lm 51s. Dazzling Light and Beacon Light were separately sprinted over short courses, and "Clarinda wa.? under a strong pull while running five furlongs in lm 12s.
Gardenia was not worked as she is suffering from kidney trouble. Inferno had Bonhomme as a companion in a gallop over six furlongs, in which they were not asked to do their best. The time was lm 24 3-os. Tukia was given a similar work, her time being lm 23 4-ss. Murihaupo was not doing his best while running five furlongs in lm 8 4-ss, and Orange Blossom covered the same ground in lm 9 4-ss. Footfall, who was carrying a small hoy, could have improved upon the Ini 521-os he took to cover a, mile. Red-Kriss followed him over the same course in lm 51s, and did it comfortably.
Enthusiasm, carrying over 9st, galloped «. mile in lm 48 3-os. This was tlie best gallop of the morning, as the Panmure mare did it well under a big weight, while Tresham and Palestrina, who bent her time, had little boys up audi were not far from doing their best. Viewpoint pleased by running half a mile in 51s, and Goosestep was tod good for Itevel over six furlongs in lmi 245.
l)ame Straitlace galloped a mile under a welter weight in lm 's4s. She ran the first half-mile in 55 2-os and was staying oti at the finish. ■Red Wink and King Gup sprinted half a mile in 53 2-os. and Relic beat Mudlark over six furlongs in lm 22 3-ss.
Joyeuse was doing her 'best at the end of half a. mile, done in 53 2-6s, a.nd Starmist could have improved upon the 2m. 8 4-os in which she galloped nine furlongs. Count Oavour was goring better thsin Prince Ferouz at airy stage of seven furlongs run in lm 3G2-ss. He is going very well; but may be reserved for the Derby instead of running in the New Zealand Cup. Limelight galloped one mile and three-quarters in 3m 14 3-ss, and was never off her bit; indeed she finished well enough to suggest that she wotdd have done another round .it the same pate. She was carrying a little boy. and the- last ten furlongs were galloped in Sin 19 3-5 s, the six furlongs from the one mile and a quarter post to the half-mile peg taking lm 255, and the last half-mile 5-4 3-ss. She pulled up well and was very gay when leaving the course for home.
Money Order was under a heavy pull while sprinting four furlongs in 54 4-*3s. The fellow is very backward, but he lias a. nice hurst of speed. Kilcaninch beat Warseer over five furlongs up the back in lm <3 2-ss, and Solfello had Ferino «6 a companion in a gallop over six furlongs in lm 245. Winkie's Best and Moorland were to have galloped six furlongs together with welter-weights up, but Winkie's Best stuck up when asked to go to the track, and Moorland broke away about eight lengths abend of him, and held his advantage to the finish. Neither gelding was asked for his best. Winkie's-Best's time, lm 21 3-os. was good, but Moorland must have done a shade better.
Boadicea and Ophir broke awav together from the six furlong post* but Boadicea soon showed out, and she passed the winning post with her head in her chest six lengths ahead of her stabieinnte. Both carried welterweights and Boadicea." s time was lm; 22 4-ss, which she could easilv have improved upon. Te Anau Lad had to bo held back to Winkie's Rebel while they ran seven furlongs in lm 435. The time was slow, .but Te Anau Lad could not have done his work better. Fiuora, brought homo by Lisnakar, sprinted five furkmgs with a featherweight up in lm 8 l^os. Cerberus carried a light-weight to the end of a mile in lm S3 3-se, and En Route galloped six furlongs in Ira 2ls. Both gallops were good for hurdle horses. Grim Joke gave an. indifferent display of jumping when schooled once round over the hurdles. Oyrene sprinted three furlongs up the back in 40s, and Victory Bond followed him in 38 l-ss. Weather permitting, the outside of the course proper will be open for fast work on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

TROTTING NOTES. Acceptances for the Metropolitan T.C.'s Spring Meeting close to-morrow at noon. A final payment of 10 aova is due at noon to-morrow for the New Zealand Trotting Cup. Nominations for the Forbury Park T.C.'s Spring Meeting close to-morrow at 5 p.m. Weather permitting the course proper at Addington will be open to-day for bowes engaged at the coming Meeting. The times oi the placed horses in the Dash Handicap at Oama.ru were:—Bell Harold, 2m 13 4-ss; Irish Whifipers, 2m 16 l-6s; Menember, 2m 16 4-ss. P. Gregg, a well-known successful trainer in Hobart, arrived from Australia oa Frißay with Snorter, a straight oat trotter, and the pacer Emulator. He is quartered at E. Berry's stable 3 at Addiftgton and will watfc his horses at headquarters. J. J. Kennerley has decided not to keep Sister Beatrice aJsd Bombardier in training: and both, horses hare been turned out for a spell. Snowshoo will not be a etarter in the New Zealand Trotting Cup. He is amis** and it is doubtful whether he will be Been in commission again for some time. At the conclusion of the Greymonth T.C.'b Spring Meeting the trotting f?eldiog Peter Bell changed hancte.
