THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Jellicoe, has telegraphed, through his private secretary, to the president of the Canterbury A. and P. Association (Mr 11. M. I). Morten) regretting that, owing to an engagement in Wellington, he is unable to accept the Association's invitation to be present on People's Day at the Metropolitan Show. Her Excellency, Lady Jellicoe, will attend the Show on the first day, Thursday, the 13th inst. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELIGBAJI.) AUCKLAND, November 2. The Governor-General had a busy day on Saturday with further farewell functions. The commercial travellers presented him with a billiard cue, while a great gathering cf Girl Guides assembled in the Town Hall to bid him adieu. In the evening he was entertained by Auckland yachtsmen and presented' with a silver model of the Iron TXike, his fourteen-foot boat which he has raced with much success.
