The Prince of Wales arrived at Southampton on board the Olympic from America. He sent a message to the Press saying that he had had a wonderful holiday, but was glad to get home again. He paid a tribute to American and Canadian hospitality. There was heavy rainfall for closing day at Wembley, but nevertheless a huge crowd arrived early and trade was von- brisk in the various pavilions. The popular programme seemed to bo bar-gain-hunting in the morning, attendance at the Stadium during the afternoon to hear the Prince of Wales deliver an address at the closing ceremony, and at the amusements park in the evening.
