At tlte Australian ornithologists' conference, held at Brisbane recently, there was a spirited discussion regarding the use of the pea-rifle. Mr C. Barrett stated that in Victoria thousands of bovs used these deadly weapons. He moved: "That in the ouinion. of this conference, the sale and use of the pea-rifle should be prohibited throughout the Commonwealth,'"' All the speakers concurred, and the opinion was expressed that the importation of the pea-rifles should be absoluteK- prohibited.
