JUBILEE INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND.

The annua! examination of the. school department of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, Auckland, has just concluded. The whole' of the seven pupils in the sixth standard were granted proficiency certificates, and the Inspector. Hr H. Priestley, expresses his hi'-h opinion of the work in the followinc'Vords:— "The pupils have made capital progress, and the highest __ measure of praise is due to the staff. A fine tone obtains, and the spirit of work is excellent. The schemes, registers, etc., are jip-to-da4e and the methods in vogue are both intelligent and effective. A sjjund classification has been made, and in spite of "the handicap of blindness, pupils reach and qualify for the proficiency standard at an age comparing favourably with public school children. The buildincs and general equipment are all that could be desired, while an ample playing area is available."'
