The New Brighton Croquet Club held its fortnightly euchre tcurnev iu the parish room on Thursday. The prizes were won as follows:—Ladies, Mrs B. Smith 3, Mrs Sutton 2; gentlemen, Mr Blunt 1, Mr Nicholls 2. The consolation prizes went to Mrs Luxton and Mr Meredith. Football Club. At a meeting of the New Brighton I ootball Club, ifessrs W. L. Taylor and Ross Smith were nominated as representatives on tlie Sports Association. It was decided to hold the annual enchre party and dance on the 20th inst. Messrs J. Taylor, Bettridge, Gray, Ansley, and Ross Smith were appointed a committee to make the necessary arrangements. Tho Churches. The services at the Methodist Church to-morrow will be conducted at. 11 a.m. by the Rev. ,T. Guy, at 6.30 p.m. by the Rev. F. T. Read (Communion), and at South Brighton Hall at 2.45 p.m. by the Rev. F, T. Read. To-morrow being recognised as World's Temperance Sunday, the W.C.T.U. is parading at the morning service at the Presbyterian Church, when the subject will bo "The Story of the Reehabites." In the evening the subject will be "A Notable Conversion." Both services will be conducted by the Rev. J. S. Young. Sports Association. Tho anual meeting of tho New Brighton Sports Association was held on Thursday in tho Council Chambers. Tho Mayor (Mr .T. Gamble) presided. The Mayor was elected president. It. was decided that, two members from each club affiliated to the Association should be the committee, the secretary to be appointed by the Management Committee. It was agreed to invite the Croquet and Hockey Clubs to join the Association, and to hold the annual social on the 25th inst. South Brighton Notes. As a conclusion to the very pleasant euchre evenings held during ahe winter in the South Brighton Hall, a most enjoyable social was held oil Wednesday. Vocal and instrumental items were contributed by Miss Gladys Weavers, Miss Clarice Weavers, Miss Millicent Grammar, Mrs Robinson, Messrs Mills, Vincent, Chegwin, Campbell, Scrimshaw, and others. The aggregate euchre prizes were won as follows:—Ladies, Mrs Nankivell 1, Mrs Chegwin 2; gentlemen, Mr Jowelt 1, Mr Robinson 2. Acceptable gifts were, presented to Mrs Robinson and Mr Chegwin in recognition of their kindness iu supplying music, for the season. Personal. Messrs S. O'Donnell and C.
