The time was 37 l-ss. King's Speech was in front of Quincoma, Le Chancas, "VVendav, and Thursby at the -end of three furlongs, which took 375. Serang, Gold Mint, Merrv Damon and Holymond went two furlongs in 265. Illumination ran a mile and was picked up in the last four furlongs by Desert Glow, the half mile taking 52 l-ss. Landbird and Cherry Rip© gave a, good display over four hurdles, the former dutjumping his companion at the last fence. King Amans went over two nioelv. Importer gave a fair exhibition over the pony hurdles. Miss Melva, Pine Arch, and Transformer set out over four hurdles. Pine Arch was in front at the finish, but Transformer gave a poor display, getting rid of its- rider at the laat hurdle. Welcome Rain and Ardnalea went over two hurdles satisfactorily. Karamu jumped four hurdles fair}-,- well. The Lamb, Rational, Shuteye, Roburite, Pouma, Thunderclap, Yomn. and Paeain' Through arrived this morning. It is stated tlTat Hipo strained a muscle and is an unlikely starter on Saturday.

Valorem and Isis King ran a mile and a quarter in 2m 17Js. Bold and Bad ran a mile in lrain 435, and Norse Song six furlongs in lm 17|s. Rover (H. Jones) did a mile in lm 45£s, and The Hawk (V. Sleigh) a mile in lm 475. Wallace Mortlake and Polycletan ran a mile and a quarter in 2m 15|s, the last five furlongs in lm ojs. Tho Night Patrol covered six furlongs easily in lm 17is. At Caulfield, Stare (with a light weight) ran a mile and a quarter on tho sand in 2m 10is. Whitticr did a mile on the grass in lm 43*s. Frances Tressady covered eleven furlongs in 2m 32Js. Cliffdale sprinted four furlongs on the grass in 50s. Drongo beat King Victor over six furlongu in lm 16s. Wynetto ran a mils in lm 455, and Tooksrby nine furlongs in lm 55Js. Aecarai (J.
