NAVAL CADETS.

WELLINGTON", October 30. A deputation of delegates of braarbea of the Navy League in New Zealand waited on the Prime Minister to-day with a view to having the Defence "kot amended to provide for a portion of torritcTial cadets serving as sea cadets. A proposal was put forward for training sea cadets in naval camps and giving general instruction in useful subjects. It wa6 suggested that the* scheme should first be put into operation at Auckland, and the eadcts bo known as the Jellicoc Cadet*. Mr Massey in reply, said that there were difficulties of finance, but he promised to do hifi befit to put naval defence in New Zealand ou a buttec footing.
