GIRL PATIENT'S DEATH.

Exciting scenes were repeated at the trial of Dr. Hadwen for alleged manslaughter of a 'girl patient. Hundreds of people rushed the doors when the Court was opened, women being greatly in the majority. Dr. Ashbourne, who conducted the post-mortem examination, gave evidence that the death of the girl was due to diphtheric pneumonia. Sir Edward Marshall-Hall, K.C., counsel for the defence, objocted to the evidence, as the swab from the girl's throat had not been identified. Ho urged that Dr. Hadwen should have been represented at the examination by another doctor. Other doetors then gave evldenct that anti-toxin injections should hava been given.
Accused, who is an anti-vaccination-ist, gave evidence that the girl was Buffering from septic tonsilitis, and died of pneumonia.
