CANCER AND WHISKY.
LONDON, October 11
Dr. JeffareSj medical officer of Leicestershire, says that during twenty-five years' experience he never found a whisky drinker a victim of cancer. Some beer drinkers sujt'cred from cancer, but the majority of the victims were cither total abstainers or moderate drinkers. Cancer cases, says the "Daily Alail,' have recently increased at an alarming rato, and Dr. Jeff arcs wonders whether this is due to the increased duty on whisky, and the resultant curtailment of consumption.
