* Tho monthly meeting of tho Council of the United Burgesses' Association was held in tho City Council Chambers last evening, Mr B. B. Dalley presiding. Tho Papanui Burgesses' Association forwa,rdcd the following resolutions: "That! tho attention of tho Minister of Health, ths medioal officer in charge of tho Health Department in CanterDury and WcsUand, the City Council, and the Drainage Board be called to the insanitary state of Papanui and other suburbs of Ciuiatciiurch, owing to the absence cf drainage, and an adequate supply of pure water under pressure, and that tho Health Department bo requested to exercise its powers under the Health Act, 1920, in order to compc' tho local authoritiee concerned to exercise their statutory powers so as to put the suburbs concerned in a sanitary condition; and that a copy of this resolution be i> sted to tli2 Minister of Health, tiie medical officer in charge of the Health Dcpavti>ic2:t for Canterbury and Westland, the Po\ n Clerk for Christchurch, this sscretarks of the Drainago Board, tho United Burgesses' Association and tho Burgesses' Association for the gen-. oral sub-district? of Christchurch."
