VEGETARIANISM AND ALCOHOL.
TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PRESS.'' Sir,—-"N .11.'s", words are always wise and weighty. It seems to me that ttie Prohibitionists are flouters of creation. Alcohol, tobacco, tea, cocaine, have been included in the plan for eome good purpose. This list does not touch tho wide field of chemical combinations, knowledge concerning which our civilisation seems to depend upon. I am at an age now where I am observing tho preceding generation pass'.ng hence. The "nippers"—those who were accustomed to take their alcohol between meals—were the first to go. The others seem to be hanging on quite well—some getting a little fat, maybe.—Yours, etc;, PETER TROLOYE.
