DOMAINS BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Christchurch Domains Board was held yesterday afternoon. G. Harper (chairman), H. J. Beswick, A. McKellar, W. H. Winsor, S. A. Orchard, A. \V. Owles, B. Macgregor Wright, J. F. Scott, J. Jamieaon, and H. T. Armstrong. Mr J. E. Purchase, principal of the Teachers' Training College, wiote requesting that a footbriage should be built across the river at the end of Peterborough street in the interests of the Training College and formal School. The letter was considered at the last meeting, when a committee was appointed to go into the matter, an-1 the corauuttee, consisting of the chairman and Messrs Beswick and Jamieson, reported that it had favourably considered the question, and recommended to the Board that steps aright be taken to obtain donations from occupiers of property in Park terrace and the adjoining streets towards the cost of the erection of the footbridge, subject to the consent of the City Council and the Drainage Board being obtained. The Domains Board had no funds of its own which it could appropriate to the purpose. The report was adopted. The Town Clerk informed the secretary that the City Council was petitioning the Governor-General to alter the boundaries of the City of Christchurch so sb to include Hagley Park, and asked for the Board's approval. After discussion, it was decided that no obstacle should be placed in the way of the proposal. Sir Winsor brought up the project of the Board construcing buildings in the Gardens.
