HELP THE BLIND.

TO-DAY'S APPEAL. To-day the citizens of Christchurcli will be asked to help Mr Clutha Mackenzie's Fund for the civilian blind of New Zealand. There are from Jive to six hundred blind civilians in New Zealand, aud the purpose of the fund is to help to educate tnese unfortunate people. Very complete arrangements have been made for to-day s appeal and nothing is more certain than that the public will get full value for money spent. There will be five stalls >n front of the Cathedral as follows: Produce stall, containing a plentiful supply of mutton, lamb, hams, vegetables of all kinds, jam, fruit, eggs, wheat, etc. SweetA stall, with an excellent assortment of home-made sweeta. Miscellaneous stall, wuere everything will be new and fresh. Children's clothing and fancy work will be included in the articles offered. The community song, "Old Man Care," will be on sale at this stall, at' one shilling per copy. Every shilling so obtained will be clear profit for the fund. Cake stall, with a full 6upply of home-made cakes. Flower stall. , In addition there will be a book stall in* Hereford street, which should be well worthy of inspection. The headquarters of the managing committee will be in the Chamber of Commerce. The stalls will be open for business at 8.30 a.m. The management states that all the money collected in" the streets on Wednesday in < connexion with the swimming carnival to-morrow night noes to the fund for the blind.
