Th© Archbishop of York's committee on Church unity, which wa3 a seqiiel to the Bishops' Conference in 1920, including six Anglicans and six Free Churchmen, report that there is and can be only one Church. Tho churches are th© local representatives of one Church, and the existence of rival denominational churches cannot be regarded as being in accordance with tho purposo of Christ. TJhe episcopate ought to be accepted for the united Church in tho future. Similarly the Council of Presbyters and tho Congregation of tho Faithful should b© maintained. Acceptance of Episcopal ordination would not imply the acceptance of any particular theory regarding its origin and character.
