PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA'S CONCERT.
A crowded audience at the Liberty Theatre last night was treated to a particularly fine musical programme by the Chrislchureh Professional Orchestra, assisted by vocal soloists. The orchestra has won the high opinion of music-lovers for its uniformly good entertainments, and last night's performance was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The vocalists w«re M Enrico Palmetto and 21i&* Marie Nilsaon, each of whom .had to respond to double encores. M. Palmettos nn» tenor voice, was heard to advantage m Lvonei's aria from "Martha," and in responao to tho demand for encores ho sang •■lj Donne e Mobile" and "Sing Me to Siee-o.' Miss Nilsson, who has a powerful voice of great range, sang the aria, "Caro Nome" from "Eigoletto," and ' Goodbye (Toati) As an extra number she sang-"Gooa-bve Said the Cucioo." Hi- Frnjicia Bate played as a 'cello solo, two bracketed numbers, which wero highly appreciated. Tfle orchestra which was under the direction of Mr A. Bidgood, was at Us best, and its playing of the suite, "Une Journee A Capri," and excerpts from "Hiawatha" met with the highest appreciation.
