remarkable drop in costs. {By Cabla--Pr'.i» A wwiiition—Copyright.) N.Z. Cab I© A'sooifrtiMt) LONIK>N, March 30. Some arresting facts concerning housing costs in Britain were revealed. by Sir Kingsley Wood, Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister for Health, who declared that since it had been made clear that the Government was not in the market for an unlimited number of houses the cost per house had been reduced by half. Tenders were now being received for under £4OO per house. The lowest yet received was yesterday week, the sum being £BBB for a house of three rooms—bedroom, parlour, and kitchen- It was expected that tenders would be still lower when building became an economic proposition for the private builder.
