NEW ZEALAND STATISTICS. The statistics of lifo and accident insurance business compiled by the Census and Statistics Office for 1920 show that there were 12 offices doing business in the Dominion in that year, and of these five also transacted industrial business in addition to orcKn.iry life insurance. The new business written in 1920 totalled £3,319,8-48, and the total income lor the year amounted to £2,652,205, a3 compared with £2,586,275 in 1910, and £2,257,171 in 1918, Renewal premiums amounted to £1,477,403, an increase of £157,589 as compared with 1119. The receipts cf the 34 companies in 3920 amounted to £540.551, as against £456,054 in 1919, and £363.G73 ir 1919. The expenditure totalled £154,942, ns.against £398,526 in 1919 and £"25,724 in 1918. The total number of policies existing on December 31st, 19"0, nnd the sum assured by each office aro given below:—

The A.M.P. pnd the Government Insurance Department hold the larger proportion of tho sums' assured, and of tJie 186,190 policies m existence at the close of tho year 1920, these two offices held 110,GR7.
