OVER-POPULATED BRITAIN.
PLEA POB SOUND. EMIGRATION/ SCHEME. (By <3nt>l*—Press Association—Copyright) (Australian a.nd N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received May 26th. 12.10 a.m.) " ■ . . LONDON. May 25. The "Morning Post," discussing the question of an, Imperial Cabinet, hopes Mr Winston Churchill, Colonial Secretary, will tackle migration within the ■ Empire upon the proved fact that; Britain is heavily over-populated. "If England is ever again to prosper,, and the perpetual burden of anxiety in making a livelihood is to be removed, from the •' working- and the ■' middle • classes, emigration is necessary. We are looking to the Dominions for help, but no man should be invited to emigrate unless a job awaits him. "The scheme ought to be based on a freat scale, in order that millions, not undreds, may obtain a new start in life. There must be a strict, selection of men and women fitted.for life on tk« land, for the Dominions are suffering like us from overcrowded towns."
