FINAL DAY'S RESULTS. i | The final results of the Christckarch MusiI cal and Literary Competitions were decided [ yesterday. Tho Theatre Royal was completely filled loet evening:, when the- first demonstration concoi-t was given. As is ger.er.illy known,_ the three demonstration concerts -;onaist of items by tlio many winners, and naturally such concerts muet give examples of tho, best that the Dominion has to ofier in every amateur line. Last evening's programme consisted of the following itens:—Piano duet, "Duo Aveneky," Misses Adonis, Aitken and- Dorothy Naumann; recitation, "Off to Poppy Land," Miss Nancy Abemethy; boys' song, "Come, for it ia June," Mr Eric Munaon; character recitation, •'Ophelia," Miss Juanita Mantiire; girls' ''Sometimes in Summer," Miss Vida, Fountain; junior champion lecitation, "Admirals A 11,," Miaa Joyce Staff; duct in character, "I Don't Want to Play in Your Yard," Misses Kathleen Chiople and' Alice Chapman; piano solo, "Valsette," Miss Gwenda Griffon; Dominion recitation, "Sherwood, Mr Frank JBown; song for girls, "Nymphs and Fuwns," Miss Lilian Hnnhsrc; Scotch song, "Annie Laurie/' Mr David McGiU; musical monologue, "Plovmates." Miss Sophia. Vivian; soprano solo, "Golden Dancing Days," Miss Corrie Aslin; story without words, "The Waiter," Mr V. G. Carter; duet, "Venetian Song," Misses BiWn.Hatch and Marie Jones; piano solo, "Liebestraum,".
