The recent fatality at the Mount Linton coal mine hud a sequel at the Magistrate's Court to-day, when Glover Gray, David Baud, and William Hunt were charged under the Mines Act Regulation;/ wita firing a shot witnout first ascertaining lual/ an persons in tUo vicinity iuttf t;;ken sueltur, and, further, wit.i being siuuty of negligence m the nun*; of tj.e ii:ot, by wnieh Reid, a mine:-, was lulled.. Tno accused pleaded not guilty. Gray was conii.ted and hned £o ana casts oa. the lirat Oiiarge, and Baird was convicted and" discharged. . the otlier information was dismissed. The charges . aganut Hunt were dismissed. Leave to appeal was granted. Arthur Morns, manager of the mine, was cnarged wiwi failing to seo that the working of tiho mine was carried out witn reasonable provisions for ciio safety of tue persons employed in the mine, and abo with negngei.ee. Botii informations were dismissed.
