The contest between Dempsey and Oarpentier for the world's championship,, which takes place ait Jersey City on July 2nd, wall start at three- o'clock. ! MEETINGS AND SOCIALS. BRIDE OF CHRISTCHUHCH TENT. The fortnightly meeting of .the Pride of Christchurch Tent, 1'.0.8., was held on Jdonuay, Bro. G. H. Browne presiding. At <the conclusion of the business-Mi, W.. A. Taylor gave a lantern lecture, showing a large'and varied number of elides, amongst which weie a. number dealing with the Summit road and track to Akaroa. A vote of thanks "was accorded Kim at-/the. close of the meeting. . ■ -■ ■ OAK OF SYDENHAM LODGE. At the fortnightly .meeting of the U.A.0.D., Oak of Sydenham Lodge," No. 15, V.A. Bro. fill presided. The bards' report was leived, and sick pay totalling £l3 was paesed for payment. .Reports were received from BrOB. Cameron, Boarne, and J. Fisher regarding the Grand Lfdge conference, .and from Bro. Underwood on the card .touinainent held recently. A vote of thanks was passed to the delegates for their reports. It was decided top&y an . official visit to the Anchor Lodge, Woolston, on the 26th inst.
