DEATH IN THK HOSPITAL. The adjourned inquest concerning th# death of Daniel Joseph Hourignn > who! ' died in the Christcinrrch Hospital oni Monday, following on his. admission! some days before ironi rlalswell, where l he had l*cn found with his throat cut,i i was concluded at the Courthouse yes-| "terdny, before Mr S. E. McCarthy.l Coroner. ' J Dr. A. B. Pearson said that a pewtmortem examination, carried out by him showed an incised wound on tho * neck oi inches in length. Tito wound -* contmeucod on the left side below tho * angle of tho jaw, and passed downward and forward. The wound showed mild ij inflammation. No important vessels * had been severed. Both lungs showed, f pneumonia, and there were nlso 3ign» | i of an old pleurisy. There was, among! | other acute inflammation of tho! * upper air passage. The heart wa'sj | dilated, and the livex was fatty. Death j 1 was due to septic pneumonia following! m on injuries to tho throat. The woundl 1 ; | in the throat was evidently self-inflict- 'M ed.
