GISBORNE. April 19. fhe Governor-General (Lord Jeihcoe) landed from the Tutanekai at 11, a.m. to-day, and was formally welcomed by the Mayor and county cnairman in tho Botanical Gardens, in the presence of several thousand people. His Excellency addressed a Navy League gathering in the afternoon, and will be entertained by tho Savage Club tonight. Tomorrow there will be a Native reception, and a visit will bo paid to the country districts. Lord Jellicoe will leave for Tauranga to morrow night. - r
