CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. . Play on Saturday was not of a very high standard, although the grounds were very fwt, with s> high wind blowing. The results »re as follows: SENIORS. SYDENHAM; (2) V. CRANFORD (3). Meeting at Lancaster Park, these teams drew with two goals each. Cranford took the_ ball from' the bully, and pressed, but their shots missed, and Sydenham broke away. Shernfs gained possession, but from his -Bhot Templeton cleared, and Cranford ctme back, 'and Snooks coming out to clear Small' had an easy shot,: and scored Cranford's first goal. Sydenham went down tie field from the bully, and kept Cranford busv, Cuminings' at last shooting- and making the scoroohe all. Cranford attacked, but Snooks cleared, and play went to the other end. Hard hitting gave Cranford a corner, but 'they missed their chance. Sydenham rushed through' and gained a penalty corner, but the advantage was lost through a penalty ior carrying, and half-time went with the score one all. Sydenham est tip a sustained attack, and Blitterfield, securing from a penalty corner, found tho not. Cranford livened up after this, and'readied Uie Sydenham circle, and Snooks, coming out, ~ Franklin sent in r „ flint,'' making the-scores level again. . Both sides were now'trying to obtain the winning goal, and' and.. down play followed till titno - Vent,' with the scoro—* Sydenham 2, Cranford 2. Referee. Mr L. Norton.
• CHRISTCHURCH (1) v. Y.M.C.A. (0). Christchurch defeated Y.M.C.A. at Hagley Park'bv on» goal to. nil. Midfield play followed the .bull} 1 , Y.M.C.A. having tho better of the. game, getting in their opponents circlq several times, but their shots were wide. Christchurch broke : away cnco or twioe, but offside play.spoiled tlvsir chances. X.M.C.A. secured, and got within shooting distance, .but Cameron hit out and half-time went with no score., ' „ Christchuroh. took the ball from the Vully, but the backs held them, and play stayed in midfield until Y.M.C.A. took the offensive, and kept Christchurch in the circle. Poor shooting enabled Cnristchurch to clear. Beaton secured, and made a fine run down the'field, and after a scramble he scored with a. ;good shot, making Christchurch ono up.. Christchurch were aggressive after thi=, but Y.M.C.A. hit out till time went, with tho score—Ch'rio'church 1, Y.M.C.A. 0. Referee, Mr C. Bellamy. • ' SELWYN (4) v. ADDINOTOJI (0). Addington played one short against Selwyn. Moreton played 'as sole back. Selwyn attacked the start, but Moreton kept them out" for a time.
