AGREEMENT REACHED. (■rjccui TO "THE pbxsi.") WELLINGTON, April U. Tho representatives of the dairy factories and butter producers continued their conference with tlie Government this morning. They met tho Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture, and also tho Director of Agriculture (Dr. Konkcs), who has been handling the butter question for the Government. Tho parties hnd reached something like a deadlock on Wednesday evening. IScw suggestions wero mide to-day. and eventually agreement was reached as to the price to bo chargixl for winter butter, 'the delegates from tho Auckland district caught tho first express for tlie north, and no announcement of tho result of tho negotiations is being made until they havo had time to meet tho peoplo they represented. The Prime Minister informed _» reporter "thU evening that the points in dispute had been settled, but in the meantime he could not make any statement on the subject. Certain matters of detail had still to receive attention, and 1 somo correspondnece might ho necessary. * It is understood that there is no chance now of the retail prico of butter reaching 2s 7d or 2s 8d per lb, the price mentioned after the producers' conference at Palmerston Jforth. NO, INCREASE IN PRICE. (NUCM ASSOCIATION TBLBQIUM.) WELLINGTON, April H. 'There will bo no increase in tho price of butter," stated the Prime Minister. "There are some minor details yet to bo settled, however, before «ny'Uiing further can ho said in regard to the quostion. The matter is uo.v in tho hands of tlie Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. W. Nosworthy) and Dr. Itonkcs, Director of Agriculture.
