REFORM CANDIDATE RETURNED. (press association- telegram.) HAWERA, April 13. The poulng in the Patna by-election., which was necessitated by the death of Mr W. D. Powdrell, the sitting member, took place to-day. The weather was unsettled, and heavy rain fell at midday. Tho polling was heavy. Tho Labour candidato failed badly. With one small return to come, tho figures are:— E; Dixon (Reform) ... 2615 W. Morrison (Liberal) ... 2335 L. Mcllvride (LabourJ ... 546 Absentee voters number 187, and declaration voters about 100.
