REFORM CANDIDATE RETURNED. (press association- telegram.) HAWERA, April 13. The poulng in the Patna by-election., which was necessitated by the death of Mr W. D. Powdrell, the sitting member, took place to-day. The weather was unsettled, and heavy rain fell at midday. Tho polling was heavy. Tho Labour candidato failed badly. With one small return to come, tho figures are:— E; Dixon (Reform) ... 2615 W. Morrison (Liberal) ... 2335 L. Mcllvride (LabourJ ... 546 Absentee voters number 187, and declaration voters about 100. An earlier message gave tho following figures, with a few returns to come: —Dixon 2039, Morrison 5471. [At the general elertion in 1919 the polling r»m!te<3: W. D. Powdrel' Reform) 3276 • W.
