At a meeting of the committee of the Ashburton County Racing Club a donation was received from Mr H. F. Nicoll of a silver cup for presentation to the winner of the Ashburton Cup event on May 12th. $ The donation was received with thanks, and it was decided to sxpresß to Mr Nicoll the committee's appreciation of his generosity. As' April 26th is Anzac Day, it was decided to postpone the closing date of nomination's until April 26th. It" was resolved to ask Mr H. Reynolds to start the trotting events at the forthcoming meeting. .... Nominations for the New Brighton Trotting CluVb Autumn Meeting close at noon to-morrow. - The Horprata Racing Club has received a-very fair list of acceptances for its Annual Meeting, to be held on Saturday, and there should be some interesting racing.'
