Devlin, leader of the Nationalists, and Mr de Valera, Sinn Fein President, have ratified an agreement between the Republicans and the Nationalists to co-operate in the elections in North-east Ireland. Each party will put forward anti-partitioh candidates, i who will accept the principle of selfdetermination, and pledge themselves to abstain from attending the Northern Voters will be asked to give their earlier preferences to the candidates of their own party, and their next preferences to th£ candidates of the other party to the agreement. Storey, Premier of New South Wales, has. forwarded the Labour Party's cable message in reference to Ireland to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, requesting him to forward it to the King's advisers. ARSON AND MURDER. .(Received April 10th, 6.5 p.m.) r LONDON, April 8. Thirty armed men entered the residence of Mr Young, manager of the Clyde Shipping Company at Cork. They evicted the occupants and then burned the premises, alleging that Mr Young was an informer. Late last night two disguised men entered the house of Mrs Byrne at Drumlish, Longford, and dragged out her son Thomas, who was a crippled soldier. He momentarily escaped into the bracken, shouting, "Save my mother I" On 6of the disguised men ran after him and shot the cripple dead in the presence of his mother and his sister, aged seventeen.
