The retail butchers have reduced tha prices of beef and mutton by 20 per cent., and of veal by 15 per cent. [Owing to the non-reduction of meat prices despite falling cattle values, the Food Minister notified butchers that unless tho price of meat was reduced in forty-eight hours, action would be taken under the Illicit Speculation Act.]
