The general arrangements for the show left nothing Ho bo desired, and the officials <sirried out thnir duties cxpt-ditiously and -.veil, ths work appertaining to '.lis secretary';! office being done in a thoroughly capable' manner. by Mr J. 11. Thomas. Music was provided i by tho Ellesmere Pi)>o Band, conducted by Mr D. ]l»id, th"ir playing 1 being a novelty much appreciated. Amongst tho cxtaa. attractions ivas a bazaar held in a marquee. on 1 the ground in aid of the'funds of the Anglican Church. There was a large and coniondable' rifcw of sheep, the fats being specially good. The main competition wag ip ifee. end Iralfbred classes, there being as many as seventeen eslubita in the ewo 'anib class. '„ 'There was a. good show of roots, fruit, and flowern, but the- home and daisy produce classes attracted very liti'.le. competition, a ' marked contrast *n,the shows of n- few years ago. Tho Uangionu High School won 'the silver cup given for the- largest mimh-?r of points in tho srods and Toots sections., School ; work was an interesting feature, di&re being keen rivalry between tho schools m the district.
