FOOTBALL.
RUGBY AT LANCASTER PARK. The Senior Cup competition will be commenced at Lancaster Park and the Show Grounds to-morrow. A number cf the competing- clubs have been greatly strengthened since last season, and the games should be very fast and even. To-morrow Mariats will play Chrisicinirch on the Oval, and this is expected to be a very *ven contest. Mariats, it will be remembered, won last year's Senior Championship. On the adjoining grounds Linwood will play 'Varsity, and Merivale will meet Sydenham. Both these frames should be worth watching-. At the Show Grounds Old Boys meet Albion.
