METHODIST CHURCH.
SYDENHAM. At the quarterly meeting of the Sydenham Methodist Circuit the Rev. W. Beckett piesided. The balance-sheet Bhowed a credit of JE2O. A return revealed record free will offerings during the half-year. The membership .and other returns were satisfactory. It was reported that the Rev. P. Paris would take charge of the circuit in April, and the following resolution was carried: —"That this quarterly meeting places on record its most sincere appreciation of the services rendered to the Church by the Hev. W. Beckett during the four years of his ministry, as its superintendent. He has been abundant in good works, never sparing- himself in order to secure the welfare of the Church. We wish for him, Mrs Beckett, and family, a successful time in their new sphere of labour, and j*ray that they may always be conscious of the Divine blessing resting upon them." Reference was aleo made to the great assistance given by Mrs Beckett in the work of the Church.
