THEATRE. The film version of Hall Caine's story "Darby and Joan" is showing at the Queen's Theatre, the stars in the cast being Derwcnt Hall Caine arid Ivy Close. LIBERTY THEATRE. Tho Australian picture, "The Man fromSnowy River," is attracting big business at the Liberty Theatre. Mies Lily Glover i? the singer. . STRAND THEATRE. . Heading the bill at the Strand Theatre is "Sunset Spiaguo," with Duel; Jones in tho star part. There aro the usual supporting films. GRAND THEATRE. The Davis Cup film is proving a big draw at the Grand Theatre. G'onslimco Talmadge is the star in "Two Weeks." MADAME JESSIE STRATHEARN. A great English songstress, who did a largo share of voluntary entertaining for the troops in England and France, is to give two recitals in tho Choral Hall —on Saturdy and Monday next. The singer is Madame Jfgsie Strathearn, A.R.A.M.. London, and she is giving her services for ;i Ion? of New Zealand in tho interest*) of the West Hum Central Mission, Loudon. A noted worker in the fihims, Sister Kathleen, is also in the touring party, and she will introduce stories relating to Jifo in the shims. Madame Strathearn; has created k stir in various parts of the Dominion, and she is credited-, by exchanges with being a finger far above tho ordinary. Her pcr.»cn«!ity is also striking.
