BOWLING.
ELLESMERE ASSOCIATION. The Ellesmere Bowling Association's champipn of champions competition took place on. the Leeston green last Saturday, John. Walker represented the Dunsandel Club, S. J. Wickliffe the Southbridg'e Club, and P. J. Eccleton the Leeston Club. Walker defeated "vVickliffe by 18 to 9, end in the final Eccleton, after an exciting game, defeated Walker by 17 to 14. An extra head had to be played' to decide the winner, the scores at the end of the 21st head" being 14-14.- The winner holds the Boag Cup until next season. EAIAPOI MATCH ABANDONED. Arrangements were in progress for a team | of eight rinks from the Christchurch Centre to play a match «t Kaiapoi "ou Saturday against the North- Canterbury clubs. The Ksiapoi green is closed,' however, and; the j match has been abandoned.
