WATERFRONT LABOUR.
AN AUCKLAND RESOLUTION. (fbess association telegram.) AUCKLAND, April 5. . The problem of waterfront labtimi .was discussed at a meeting of the committee of the Auckland Provincial Industrial Association, and the following, resolution carried: "Hurt, in vMwi'of inb continually recurring interruption of work on tho watertront, and tho great delay, inconvenience, and iotfi occasioned thereby, this Association" i« of opinion that the only satisfactory solution of the difficulty will bo the substitution as far as possible of a permanent staff, in lieu of the present casual labour, and that the Government be urged to hold an enquiry ink the whole matter, adopt tho best system that can bo evolved, and pees the necessary legislation at tho next cession of Parliament."
