It is officially reported that, except for sniping, the "Waziri tribesmen are quiet. They attacked a British convoy -at Reghakot, killing a British officer and four Indian soldiers. The Mahsuds ambushed a picket near Jandola, killing five Indian soldiers. They also attacked a convoy at Maziani and stole 50 camels. In another. attack on tho rearguard picket of a British mobile column proceeding from Manzie to Khirgo, 16 Indian soldiers were killed and 20 wounded. Tho survivors fought their way through and rejoined tho main body. The Mahsuds suffered heavy casualties.

THE CENSUS. DELHI, April 2. It is officially reported that the total population of the British India native States, as the result of the census on March 18th, is slightly over 319,000,000, against 315,000,000 in 1911.
