ASHBURTON CLUB. An eight rink .match was played on the Asbbiirton green on Saturday afternoon between' tho Ashburton Centr* and the Christcburch Centre. The Ashburton Club was assisted by » rink from" Rakaia, and one- from: Methven; . Keen interest was ehown in the jiatch all through,.: and there was a lot of good play. At the seventh head the ecores were—Ashburton 64, Christchurch 63, and at fourteenth Ashburton 113, Christchurch 113. The inatch ended, Christchuroh 178, Ashburton i&J. HEATHCOTE- VALLEY CLUB. At -a meeting of resident* of Heethoote Valley held in tho 'Club Hall, Mr C. Flavell presiding,-it was deoided, after hearing the opinions of visiting bowlers, to form a club. The following" officers were elected:—President, Mr A. Bettlo; .vice-president, Mr R, fihrimpton; treasurer, Mr C. N. Poryer; secretary, Mr G. Compton; committee, Messrs J. Sanderson, J. Round; K. Thompson, W. F. Thompson, J. Perkins, T. A. Gates, J. Mbrgan, F. Henebory, J. Gieenhill. The offer of Mr' Barnard, engineer to tha. Lyltolton Borough Council, io supervise the laying out of the green, waa accepted with thanks. On Saturday about 20 members of tho club were busily engaged in excavating of tho green, which is closo to of the tunnel. i
